Opportunity | Ashurst art prize for emerging artists
Ashurst is pleased to announce the launch of the Ashurst Emerging Art Prize 2015, a new prize for emerging artists in the UK.
The winner, to be selected by a judging panel made up of a variety of art experts including collection directors, critics, lecturers and artists, will receive a £3,000 cash prize and solo exhibition in the Ashurst Emerging Artist Gallery.
Lecture & Workshop: Icon Painting
Artist and art-historian Andrew Paterson will show slides of examples of Christian icons by contemporary practitioners, as well as by perhaps the greatest icon-painter of the 20th century, Fr. Gregory Krug.
Performance for D21 Club Members | Terra Incognita
The talented bunch at Discover 21 have let us know Terra Incognita will be running this Monday 12 at 7pm. Open to members only, this month’s text is The Birthday Party by Harold Pinter and will be run by fabulous guest host Angela Milton.
Come along and get familiar with the play, or re-familiarise if it’s one you already know. Bring a copy if you have one, but don’t worry if you don’t. Volunteer to read a section or just listen.
Opportunity | Volunteers for mixed-media exhibition
Resident jeweller and sculptor Fiona Hermse requires voluntary assistance for her upcoming exhibition It Surrounds Me – Part 2. It will feature a series of cross-disciplinary, interactive installations exhibited publicly and is a continuation of a project Fiona began during ComPeung, an artist residency she undertook in late 2013 in a rural part of northern Thailand.
