Leith Creative is seeking input from Leith Creatives for its new, important cultural mapping research project. Being co-delivered by LeithLate and Citizen Curator, they are looking specifically at cultural resources, arts hubs and creative industries within the Leith area.
A final round of funding from the £1 million Legacy 2014: Sustainable Sport for Communities Fund, is now available after the first 21 beneficiaries were announced last month. The £1m fund supports the sustainability and capacity of aspiring and existing social enterprises delivering sport and physical activity in communities across Scotland.
The third phase of Desire Lines, an open conversation about the cultural and creative future of Edinburgh, will take place with two discussions on the afternoon and evening of Tuesday 3 February at the Assembly Rooms. Following a lively and stimulating discussion about what makes Edinburgh a culturally successful city in Summerhall on December 8 2014, and a survey to explore perspectives and priorities for the cultural future of the City, this essential conversation will enter its next stage.

For those of you who did not know, each year St Margaret’s House offers two studios to recent graduates of Gray’s School and the Edinburgh College of Art. Now in its second year, the Bursary Programme has been a great success. This year’s crop of student-artists have been surely and steadily developing their practices since they moved in last November.
Eliza of Moody Monday has just informed us of a printmaking exhibition in France, called Print Biennial at the Four Pontet in Magné in the Deux-Sèvres (near Niort, about 60km inland from La Rochelle) from 23 May – 1 June.
Ahead of his gallery residency here next month, Tim Vincent-Smith and his band Sink will be providing live accompaniment to the surrealist masterpiece L’Age d’Or, in a one-off showing in the Filmhouse this Friday night. The film caused a wee bit of a stir (and more than a few riots) when it was first released – it is expected Sink and the Noize Choir will recapture that with this performance..and then some.
