A resident artist of St Margaret’s and member of the Edinburgh Digital Photography Meetup Group has informed us of a photography weekend taking place in Pitlochry on 21 – 23 November. The weekend includes talks, workshops and photography walks in the local area.

The Edinburgh School of Icon Painting have let us know that you can join their weekly classes and sign up for weekend workshops:

St Margaret’s resident theatre Discover 21 have just announced that they are accepting submissions for their annual Collider event.
Shared art/work studio for rent
A space has opened up in a larger-than-average (approx. 5mx4m) two-window room on the top floor of St Margaret’s.
It is a south-facing room, and you would be sharing with one other artist.
It also boasts great storage. Just one request – this studio is dust and solvent free (so no oil painters) please!
£90 p.c.m. (plus £90 deposit)

Felt & Flower | Exhibition in Portobello
Portobello-based artists Heather Potten and Esther Kuck have joined forces to create an exciting new exhibition celebrating Autumn flowers. In Felt & Flower, natural and felted blooms will combine in a vibrant new collection of floral art.
Free furniture giveaway
I have a number of spare pieces of furniture that are too big for the Swap Shop.I’m not requesting any money for it all, as I would prefer not to have to have them uplifted.
Winter Open Studios 2014
Our Winter Open Doors have been confirmed for the final weekend in November, 28th and 29th.
All artists, designers and makers from St Margaret’s House are invited to open their studios for the weekend, allowing the public to visit and discover our creative and artistic community.
There will also be a Makers’ Fair running in Gallery 2 (ideal for Christmas shoppers), as well as various workshops and events, organised for children and families.
