Rediscover your Roots with the 8 Limbs of Yoga and Shamanic Rituals

Saturday 8 August, 2020 - Saturday 8 August, 2020
10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Suitable for: All levels/Beginners

Price: £21

8 workshops focusing on 8 shamanic rituals and on each of the 8 limbs of yoga.
No need to attend all of them, you can just attend individual events.

Each workshop will be opened by Giada, from Invisible Caims, to welcome you to our safe
space, learning what Shamanism is and experiencing the beautiful healing power of Rituals to serve your personal transformation. Rituals and Ceremonies are tools to invoke spiritual presence and blessings through practical actions, but also to feel that your intent is powerful.

Giada’s personal choices of these 8 Rituals comes from the Toltec tradition, which strongly believes we are all artists of our own lives. The first Ritual we will do together will be about The Web of your Life as a vast network of learning, connecting, and growing.

Then Cori, from KOA, will majestically explore the 8 limbs of yoga, which offer guidelines for a purposeful and meaningful life. In Patanjali’s yoga sutra he describes this as the 8 fold path; ‘Ashtanga’; which in Sanskrit translates ‘to having 8 limbs or components’.

This 1st workshop will explore the first limb, the YAMAs, their meaning, purpose and how to apply them in daily life. Each workshop will include theory, physical yoga practice (asana) and meditation. These unique workshops offer you the space to find a deeper connection with your mind and body.

The 5 YAMAs are ethical standards or moral disciplines for how we behave in life. In a sense it is a code of conduct for how we live our life.
The YAMAs are:

  • Ahimsa
  • Satya
  • Asteya
  • Brahmacharya
  • Aparigraha

The workshops are suited to all levels and no previous knowledge or experience is required. The groups will be small and welcoming, allowing time for questions and reflection.

There will be an option to join a whats app discussion group for those who wish.

The first workshop will be online only via zoom, then, according to the Covid guidelines from the Government, you will be able to choose if to join us in Invisible Caims’ studio in Edinburgh, or from home as we will be live streaming. When in the studio, please bring your own mat and blanket.
If you are not able to join on a specific date, recordings will also be available.
