Among the Savages showcases the work of two brothers, who despite using wildly different mediums, are both drawn to celtic motifs in their work. This exhibition follows on from the successful first ‘Among the Savages’ in September 2022, this time focusing on Nik and Noel’s work exclusively.
Nik Savage is an occasional wood carver as and when the mood takes him. An encounter with the Pictish symbol stones in the churchyard at Aberlemno, while attending a free festival at Dunnichen Hill in the 1980’s, led to an enduring fascination with these remnants of Scotland’s history.
Noel Savage is an artist who largely paints for his own amusement, predominantly using oil paints. He works in bold colours, often using celtic motifs and geometric shapes. This is the second time his work has been exhibited, following our previous exhibition at St Margaret’s House.
