Hidden

Saturday 7 April - Sunday 22 April
12:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Hidden is a collection of photographic work created by individuals who have caring responsibilities. The work demonstrates the uniqueness of photography, its ubiquitous nature offering the time-starved an opportunity to create and be included.

Treasured family photographs evoke memories and instigate discussion around those we care for. Everyday objects are placed under studio lights, elevating it’s status to more accurately demonstrate its vital role in the successful play of a day. Pinhole cameras facilitate image making from household waste with long exposure times allowing for multitasking. A still-life is created from found objects, stumbled across when carrying out daily chores. An unpaired glove becomes the starting point of photographic narrative, real or imagined it’s an alternative to reality. Photography has been used to capture a reflection, allowing the subject to play with how they are seen in the world.

Journeys

Saturday 7 April - Sunday 22 April
12:00 pm - 6:00 pm

A Life Journey through Creativity By Sylvie Stainton

My inspiration as a painter and sculptor comes  from what I observe and feel as it echoes from the world we live in. My work is guided by a deep connection to Nature and its Soul: the outer and inner landscapes, the visible and invisible.

Increasingly what happens in the world emerges through forms, shapes, lines, colours and movement as it expresses itself from the raw materials of the canvases, wood and/or stone.

Iyengar Yoga - Level 1

Monday 16 April
6:00 pm - 7:15 pm

This class is suitable for Beginners as well as those wishing to study the basic asanas (poses). In Iyengar yoga we begin by learning the correct physical alignment in simpler poses with natural breathing. This works to correct misalignment in the body, which could otherwise cause pain and injury and also to quieten the mind. The poses can be physically challenging but we use props to enable everyone to work to their best pose and each class ends with relaxation.
