Jane Buxton of Wild Cat Crafts
Resident Jane Buxton’s redesigned website is now up and running. As Wild Cat Crafts, Jane transforms and upcycles using fabric, much of which she uncovered from our Swap Shop. We asked her about how she got into it and she happily obliged. Here’s what she had to say:
Local event | Edinburgh Irish Festival
Our artists elsewhere | ZODIART
Opening night | Friday 13 March 6-9pm
Then 14-19 March, 11am-5pm daily
Gayfield Creative Spaces, Gayfield Square, Edinburgh
Ashley Dudley-Smith has prepared a show for the amazing Gayfield Creative Spaces, connected to Whitespace. Entitled Zodiart, the main theme is the contrast between humanity and nature, our relationship to life and our dependency on it. The use of layering takes us to a surreal inner-space where scale and logic are suspended, a place where we can meditate on our role in an interconnected multi-dimensional universe.

Hello,
Opportunity | Watercolour class tutor sought
Lynne Roberts has kindly reached out, looking for a tutor to take over two Watercolour painting classes for beginners, which are run every week on Monday and Tuesday afternoons at the Eric Liddell Centre, Morningside.
Printbase | Word of thanks from Alex
Thank you to everyone who came to the Printbase launch last Friday. It was great to see so many people there.
We will be opening in the next two to three weeks with courses, classes and workshops in print and textiles.
Local event | Antique & Fine Art Fair, Scone Palace
Resident Fremi Art & Design are taking part in The Scone Palace Antique and Fine Art Fair this weekend, 6-8 March, 10.30am -5pm.
We are showing watercolours by Victorian artists such as: Waller Hugh Paton, Sam Bough, John MacWhirter and Sir Muirhead Bone, and in contemporary selection, watercolours by John Busby, screen-prints by Bob Batchelor and Mina Braun, as well as stone lithography by Gill Tyson and Catherine Anne Hiley.
D21 Performance | Warrior
The Festival success story, Warrior, by Jennifer Adam, returns for two nights only with Euan Brockie, Deborah Whyte and John Love.
Warrior follows the story of Evan, a young lad seemingly filled with hate, but as always what we project online isn’t the full picture. If you missed it this summer, now is your chance!
