Rhythms is an exhibition of visual art exploring the cycles and patterns to be found in the natural and urban environments.
Soosan Danesh, Mary Walters and Tracy White are 3 recent graduates of BA Combined Studies Art and Design at Edinburgh College of Art.
In this exhibition, they explore the rhythms of the natural and urban environments. Each artist works from the starting point of repetitions or cycles in her own observations of surroundings both near and far.
Soosan takes the urban environment of Edinburgh as her starting point, Mary and Tracy are both inspired by the rhythms of the wild places of Northern lands – in both Scotland and Iceland. This first joint exhibition will include works on paper, wood and canvas, in both 2D and 3D, as a series of wall and floor mounted pieces.
The artists aim to present an integrated show, with the work of each artist acting as a foil for that of the others. In this way, a rhythmic display of work will emerge, creating its own pattern of ebbs and flows.
