News Free seminar for community groups

Thursday 2 June 2016 Arrival 5.30pm for 6pm -7.15 Seminar
Quartermile  Two (off Lauriston Place old Royal Infirmary site) 2 Lister Square Edinburgh EH3 9GL

The majority of voluntary organisations in Scotland are unincorporated associations but, quite often, the people involved in running them can misunderstand what this status means and the potential for those involved to become personally liable for the debts and obligations of the association. Sometimes, this can have serious financial implications for those involved.

It will be of particular interest to groups which have premises/land/staff as it addresses potential risks/liabilities for unincorporated organisations.

Presented by Colin McMillan (ClubSports Edinburgh), City of Edinburgh Council and Morton Fraser, this free seminar will summarise the legal status of unincorporated associations, including the advantages and disadvantages which that status brings and proposals for reform as well as discussing ways to seek to limit the liability of trustees and members.

If anyone would like to attend they need to book a place directly with Morton Fraser:
