News EdinburghJudo needs your help!

Attention Edinburgh Palette Family!

One of our resident groups, EdinburghJudo, is applying through the 2017 Aviva Community Fund to upgrade our building’s facilities! Should they be successful they will be converting the current toilets in to changing rooms with showers, including a disabled changing and toilet facility! To do this, we need you! Aviva Community Fund application success depends on votes, and WE NEED YOU!!

Please if you have a couple of minutes sign up to add your weight to a funding bid to help develop the facilities in our building! It takes two minutes and is very easy! Visit the Aviva Community Fund website to vote. If you want to see more of what goes on at EdinburghJudo head to floor 1 in the building to have a look, where the staff will happily show you about, or head to www.edinburghjudo.com for more information!

EdinburghJudo is a thriving and engaging hub for judo and social and personal development in the Meadowbank area of the Scottish capital, and provides access to a fantastic sport in fun and engaging classes to over 500 members of all ages and abilities as well as running after school classes in many local schools.

To ensure that we are as inclusive as possible, and to allow us to offer as many people as possible access to sport in the area, one of out long term goals has been to convert our current bathrooms, which are unfit for purpose as changing rooms, in to changing areas that would allow our members to get changed in a safe and suitable environment. Our plans include a disabled changing/wet room that will allow EdinburghJudo to ensure that everyone can use our facilities!

With the boys and girls changing rooms to converted in to changing rooms, and our small kitchen cubbyhole remodeled as a disabled access toilet/changing and wet room we will have met our long term goal of making EdinburghJudo accessible not only during class time to people of all abilities, but improved our ability to act as a hub for social growth.

We need your help to make this a reality and would love for anyone that is interested in our judo club, our project or the people that make up EdinburghJudo to come down and experience what we are all about!

If you have a couple of minutes please take the time to vote for what we consider a fantastic cause!
