Leith Victoria Swim CentreUpMo is proud to be partnering with Edinburgh Leisure, and is now set to open a new YoYo Cafe within the Leith Victoria Swim Centre!

Like the YoYo Cafe at St Margaret’s House, this will be a work experience cafe, giving students the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of running a cafe — from preparing and serving food, to taking orders, to operating the till. The new YoYo Café will launch on the 28th of August – we can’t wait! Keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter for updates!

Mark - Yoyo cafeFurther to the exciting news about the expansion of
the YoYo Cafe Project, huge congratulations to Mark,
who has recently started as our Cafe Project Development Coordinator. Mark has already been doing a fantastic job in the YoYo Cafe!

We asked Mark to tell us a little about himself. He said: “I’ve always loved cooking almost as much as eating and have worked as a chef in Hull, Durham and Edinburgh over the past 8 years.”

We asked Mark to let us know how things have been going in the cafe:

Upmo Garden“The café has been going through an exciting time. First of all we are now open on a Thursday, so four days a week! As the cafe grows, we want to hear from more staff and students who might be interested in working with us; we intend to expand to five days a week soon!

Thanks to the gardening group for providing us with fresh vegetables. So far we’ve had lettuce and spring onions and we’re looking forward to getting a whole load more from them.”

Huge thanks to Young Start for their support of both of our YoYo Cafes.
