UPMO | YoYo Cafe News
UpMo is proud to be partnering with Edinburgh Leisure, and is now set to open a new YoYo Cafe within the Leith Victoria Swim Centre!
Like the YoYo Cafe at St Margaret’s House, this will be a work experience cafe, giving students the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of running a cafe — from preparing and serving food, to taking orders, to operating the till. The new YoYo Café will launch on the 28th of August – we can’t wait! Keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter for updates!
UpMo needs you!
UpMo is one of three great charities to have been shortlisted to be the next charity partner for Sainsbury’s at Meadowbank.
The staff team there will raise funds and provide other support for the winning charity over the next year.
The winner will be chosen by public vote.
To vote, please visit: https://www.sainsburyslocalcharity.co.uk/
Young Start Grant for Yoyo Café
YoYo Café has been awarded a generous Young Start grant from the Big Lottery Fund. The award will enable us to open the café for five days a week over the course of 2017, creating more training and work experience opportunities for current and new UpMo students. We are really excited about what this grant will make possible.

Visitors this week – photos
This week we’ve had two special guest visitors to St Margaret’s House – see the photos below.
On Tuesday, Kezia Dugdale, Leader of the Scottish Labour Party, visited for a tour of the building and galleries. She was very keen to learn more about what we do here and the activities taking place on her doorstep.
Today, Wednesday, we welcomed the Director of Creative Industries for Creative Scotland, Clive Gillman, who is tasked with implementing the Creative Industries Strategy 2016-2017. Clive was previously Director of Dundee Contemporary Arts and, being a keen artist himself, is interested in how St Margaret’s House has developed and the many goings on inside the building.
