Swap Day in March

Join us in the swap shop on Friday the 23rd of March from 3pm to 8pm for a day of swapping useful items.

This is a day for residents of St Margaret’s House to bring and donate  items no longer needed but that you feel another residents might be in need of.

As you may be aware, the Swap Shop has had to close due to health and safety issues. We therefore ask anyone coming to the Swap Day to follow the guidelines below. We may ask you to take things away if we deem them unsuitable.

We are also in need of volunteers to help make the day go smoothly. If you have an hour or two to spare on the 23rd or in the days leading up to the event, please contact Jaimie at greenteam@edinburghpalette.co.uk with your availability.

Help needed in the Swap Shop

Unfortunately we’ve had to close the Swap Shop due to safety concerns.
Do you have half an hour to help with the clean up?
We are going in on Thursday 6th July from 1-3pm to have a good clear out.

If you can help out, even for half an hour we would really appreciate it and you would be helping keep this valuable resource open for everyone who loves it.
Thank you so much
Jaimie

Swap Shop upcycling

Dress made by Isabell Buenz from Swap Shop materialsThe Swap Shop on the ground floor is great for finding treasures! Isabell Buenz made her Christmas Party dress, which she is modelling in the photo, from fabrics found in the Swap Shop.

Isabell Buenz and Jane Buxton also held a gift wrapping event in the St Margaret’s House Library earlier this week and would like to thank everyone who donated.  £10.50 was made for the Oxfam Syria Appeal and £10.50 for the Wildcat Haven.

Re-opening of the Swap Shop

HUGE apologies for the swap shop being closed so much recently. This is mainly been due to a larger then usual number of donations/people moving out of the building as well as usual donations.

When so much is donated at once it gets untidy and unmanageable with items strewn about the floor making it unsafe. This can take ages to sort out with limited volunteer hours available.
