Drawers Off Series 2

Drawers Off is BACK, the show where talented amateur artists get to show the world what they can do in a life drawing competition.

Presented by Jenny Eclair  – The celebratory, fun and encouraging show will once again showcase a broad range of amateur artists as they express themselves and improve their skills, at times using artistic techniques they may not have tried before. Each day they’ll all be aiming their easels at a different near-naked life-model.

Each week 5 artists will start with a blank canvas as they compete over 5 days to create 5 unique pieces. Each day they’ll score each other’s work, and the winner’s creation will be placed in the ‘Drawers Off’ winners gallery. At the end of the week the artist whose work is voted as the best by the group could win up to £1,000.

To apply, all you need to do is click the Etribez link or email the below address.

Lunch-time Pop-Up Event (External)

Would you be interested in doing a lunchtime pop-up event in a corporate building?
We’ve got a big lobby space where you could advertise your brand with some promotional materials like flyers etc. or even sell your product on the spot. All that with no cost.

We are based at Atria One, 144 Morrison Street Edinburgh.
Atria One is occupied by 17 large companies. On average we have around 200-400 employees coming in to work from the office each day.

Pop-ups take place in our lobby area.

It is entirely up to yourself how you want to use the space. You can have a banner, promotional materials, product you want to sell etc. From our side, we can provide a table or a few. However, if there is anything in particular you need, just let me know and we can see what are the options for organising it.

In the past, we had businesses like Hot Yoga, Massage and Glow, Candle and co, Wee bee company, Le Petit Cafe, Pure Gym and more.

In November we are planning to host pop-ups on the 17th and in December on the 8th. Let me know if that is suitable.

Ps. Just to remember… to be in the building you will need to have a valid licence or insurance so you are safe 🙂.

St Margaret’s House Tenants Interviews, The University of Edinburgh

My name is Coll and I’m 4th year Architecture student at the University of Edinburgh and am currently researching for my dissertation which explores secondary use of buildings. St Margaret’s House is an incredible example of utilising a space and creating a thriving economy out of a forgotten building.

The strength, to me, lies in its huge diversity of tenants. I hope to document and understand the nature of the spaces that you all have and your stories and experiences at St Margaret’s House. To do this, I would love to have a chat with you about your experience here and document the space you are currently in, both through a few photographs and, if possible, a 3D LIDAR scan of the room – I’m doing this to get a cross section of the community here in as rich a way as possible. This is by no means prescriptive and I am happy to work with you to best get the information I’m looking for, I also understand that time is precious and so I will make sure to be as quick as possible in chatting and getting the photos/scans, around 30-45 minutes tops!

If you are interested in being involved then please get in touch, my contact details are:
