My studio practice evolves from on site drawings of urban structures and seascape… decaying surfaces and storm damage debris are transformed using elements of collages, sand and other salvaged materials.
In spring 2018 I travelled to Lisbon and then on to an art residency in Mertola, Portugal, where I made a series of outside work… this led to a summer screen printing workshop at Edinburgh Printmakers where I experimented with the drawings, using inks, paints and collage on to the finished prints, thus producing a variety of images similar to monotypes, as each print is individually executed.
I shall be showing some of the larger paintings at the Dundas Gallery in May 2018 alongside a selection of prints.
