Gallery 23 is hosting a winter exhibition
Wishes // Fears, invites artists to submit holiday cards, postcard sized art, ornaments and/or larger scale works. Subject matter is not limited to holiday themes, rather we hope to incorporate a breadth of ideas within the format of a card or larger work.
For the card installation, we welcome submissions in ANY two-dimensional artistic medium that fits within the average size of a holiday card or postcard. Works are not limited to solely visual, we are open to text based works as well. Multiple prints or copies of photographs and smaller scale.
Theme: For many, the holidays are a time of heightened emotions, some happy but for others a bit darker. It is a time of family and friends, while also a period of reflection and nostalgia. Our exhibition attempts to explore those feelings commonly associated with the holidays.
All works will be for sale at the artist’s discretion.
The exhibition will be held at the gallery’s West End location from 25th November through 13th December, 2016. The opening on Friday, November 25th, 18:00-22:00 will include spoken word performance.

Submission Guidelines:
Please send either a preliminary sketch or an image of a completed work to:

DROP OFF: Nov. 21 – 23, 2016, 10:00-17:00(or by special appointment) Please ensure all work is signed, has all info on reverse and is display ready in white frames if pertinent. Cards and postcards should be unframed.
Please Include The Following in Your Submission:
- Up to 10 images of your artwork with titles
- Title format: FULLNAME_TITLE_SIZE_MEDIUM_DATE_PRICE/RANGE
(for multiples, please specify the edition: ie.“digital print, edition of 10”)
- A brief artist bio/statement up to 150 words
- Contact information including phone number/email / *website / *blog / *instagram (*if applicable)
FEES :
Entry Fees : £5 (per 10 works submitted, multiples of 10 postcards counts as one)
COMMISSION:
Gallery 23 will accept a 30% commission of any sales of consigned artwork during the exhibition period.
