News Community News Opportunity | Become a AAS Board Member

aas logoApplied Arts Scotland (AAS) has been actively involved in supporting and lobbying on behalf of the craft sector in Scotland for many years. Following a revival and period of activity with key partners the AAS Board and their Advisors are leading a phase of development and planning.

We are recruiting three Board members to support this phase of growth to support the professional development of makers based in Scotland. We are currently seeking new members who are professional applied artists, makers and craftspeople living and working in Scotland. We are keen to see representation across disciplines and geographical areas to ensure a true sectoral representation and cross section of contemporary craft practice in Scotland.

The Board will decide the course of AAS, informed by wider sector opinion, and will work in tandem with Advisers representing partner organisations, ambassadors and advocates.
Board Members will be expected to attend up to 4 meetings per annum (travel expenses will be reimbursed).

The post is not remunerated but you will:
1. help inform opinion, form strategy and develop opportunities
2. make key contacts within the craft sector in Scotland and beyond
3. gain valuable insights into managing an arts organisation
