News Community News Open call | BRING YOUR OWN BEAMER

place+platform and Edinburgh Palette invite you to submit screen based and moving image work for a one-off event hosting artists and their projectors to showcase film, moving image and performance:

BRING YOUR OWN BEAMER (BYOB)

The BYOB concept was invented by media artist Rafaël Rozendaal and premiered in Berlin in 2010. BYOB is a series of one-night exhibitions curated by different people around the world and exploring the medium of projection. The idea is simple: find a place, invite artists, and ask them to bring their projectors. Since its conception BYOB events have taken place in over 80 international cities, with this next installment being held in Edinburgh.

place+platform will play host to a BYOB night at St Margaret’s House on Saturday 16 January. We are actively seeking participants who can provide moving image works, regardless of theme or content, that can be displayed on their own screening equipment to be part of this immersive arts event.

For further information or to offer a submission please email placeandplatform@gmail.com with links to your work and a short artist biog.

Selected artists will be required to install their work on Saturday 16 January. They will need to provide any and all equipment, including projector/TV/tablet/phone, media player and headphones or speakers if sound is required.

Submission Deadline:  Friday 8th January 2016.
Selected artists will be informed on Monday 11th January 2016.

Event Date: Saturday 16th January 2016.
