News OPEN: £5000/ £2000 SCOTTISH PORTRAIT AWARDS, 2017

SPA - Fine ArtThere is still time to send in your entries for the 2017 Scottish Portrait Awards, which close on 31 May! The competition is open to fine artists and photographers born, living or studying in Scotland.

2017 marks the launch of the SCOTTISH PORTRAIT AWARDS (SPA) which seek to bring together the very best in contemporary Scottish Portraiture. To give you a brief recap on entry requirements:

The SCOTTISH PORTRAIT AWARD for 2D/3D FINE ART, offers a FIRST PRIZE of £5000. Entrants may submit works in any medium.
  • 2D submissions for the SPA, Fine Art Awards, should be no smaller than 30cm x 30cm and no larger than 150cm x 150cm when framed
  • 3D works should be self-supporting, minimum size 30cm x 30cm x30cm and maximum size 100cm (height) x 50cm x 50cm
ALL FINE ART FINALISTS also have the opportunity to receive a PORTRAIT COMMISSION worth £3000, awarded by The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland (RIAS).
The SCOTTISH PORTRAIT AWARD for PHOTOGRAPHY, presented in the name of esteemed photographer RICHARD COWARD, offers a FIRST PRIZE of £2000.
  • Submitted photographic portraits should be in black and white no smaller than 28cm x 31cm and no larger than 37cm x 41cm (including frame)

SPA - photography60 FINALISTS (30 from each category) will be selected for 2017 EXHIBITION by our prestigious JUDGES. Finalists work will be displayed, in November, at the Scottish Arts Club in Edinburgh and will be featured in the SPA 2017 CATALOGUE.

 
The entry fee is £10 per artwork donated to the Scottish Arts Club Charitable Trust. Funds raised are used to support the arts in Scotland.
 
*Remember, all works must be submitted by 31 May 2017.
