Resident jeweller and sculptor Fiona Hermse requires voluntary assistance for her upcoming exhibition It Surrounds Me – Part 2. It will feature a series of cross-disciplinary, interactive installations exhibited publicly and is a continuation of a project Fiona began during ComPeung, an artist residency she undertook in late 2013 in a rural part of northern Thailand.
The end result will be an immersive gallery experience for the viewer. Because many components, textures and site-specific structures will be involved, Fiona is seeking four volunteers who would be willing to help.
An interest in the arts and steady hand are the only necessities. It would be ideal for art students seeking to gain practical knowledge of hanging a show in a large gallery space.
Set-up will begin on Tuesday 17 and is expected to continue until the morning of Friday 20. Fiona has a small budget for travel expenses and is happy to cover any public transport costs incurred within the city.
