Learn how to make and take away your very own willow basket in a day. Suitable for beginners, all tools and materials supplied.Come and learn traditional willow weaving skills with Anna Liebmann Coldham and take home your own hand made basket.
The course will cover how to make a basket using the traditional stake and strand method: weaving slath bases using a ‘pairing’ weave; staking up; weaving the upset using waling; randing the sides; and then turning down a border … in order to make a complete basket.
Each course runs from 10am – 4pm (or until your basket is finished!). The cost is £40 – £70 on a sliding scale. Places need to be booked at least 10 days in advance with a deposit of £20.
