This course is 10 weeks long, 2 hours a week and will introduce basic jewellery making techniques to the complete beginner.
I will teach you new skills using copper and silver, demonstrating techniques such as saw piercing, filing, soldering, roll printing, stamping and finishing metals. You will also be shown how to make a simple bezel setting for a cabochon stone. This course will be broken down into a series of simple projects where you can make a silver ring, a pendant, a pair of earrings or cufflinks and finally a project of your own choosing and design. Materials for the first 3 projects will be available to purchase in the class, however for your own project you will be required to source you own materials which I will discuss with you.
This is a relaxed and friendly class with a maximum of 8 students. The car park below the building is available for students to use.
There is no need to bring anything but a sketchbook and pencil would be useful.
