Saturday 22 October - Saturday 5 November 2016 11:00am - 4:00pm
St Margaret's House

Rhythm and Line is a collection of recent acrylic paintings and collage work on canvas by Lorna Nisbet. The work encompasses how the rhythm of life is criss-crossed by lines, breaks, intersections which continually transform the human and animal landscapes by applying unexpected texture and depth.

uncommon-lightHer work is characterised by diverse styles and subject-matter: people, birds, dogs and places where we all intersect. She has a rich background in printmaking, textiles, sculpture, photography as well as painting, coupled with many years working in applied arts and crafts, including furniture-making and design.

This collection depicts both abstract and figurative shapes rooted in urban living as well as mythological landscapes. Through the altering of light and perspective Lorna’s work illustrates the variety of heightened moments in the rhythm of life.

During the open doors event on the Saturday the 22nd and Sunday 23rd of October, the exhibition will be open from 10am until 5pm
