From rags to bags – textile recycling at its most glamorous! This workshop was developed from my extremely popular ‘Rags to Riches’ except you get to make a gorgeous little evening bag. Usually only run at Christmas-time, but now so popular, I’ve rolled it out for the rest of the year too. These embroidered bags are the perfect accessory to a wedding outfit, or for a special holiday night out.
Who is this aimed at?
You need to have basic sewing experience. We will use basic utility stitches of a sewing machine in a creative way to make a one-off individual embroidered bag so you don’t need a ‘fancy’ machine nor any art or drawing experience.
What will I learn?
-how to repurpose old clothing, household textiles, and scraps of trimmings
-use the utility stitches of a basic sewing machine for decorative effects
-learn how to use metallic transfer foils to add a bit of bling.
– make a lovely little evening bag in your choice of two styles offered.
