‘No Woman Is An Island’ is an annual exhibition which is now in its fourth year, featuring work by Rona MacLean, Aileen Grant and other female artists and makers. The artists are in an informal Edinburgh-based network of women artists and makers who meet regularly to go sketching and discuss the development of their work.

The main focus of the exhibition will be new and recent work by Rona and Aileen, who are both members at Edinburgh Printmakers. Aspects of nature are at the heart of their practice: Rona has recently completed a series of colourful screen prints celebrating the vibrancy of different trees and Aileen will be showing all of her ‘Natural Selection’ series of photo-etchings as well as new landscape aquatints.

The guest artists and makers include painters and printmakers plus award-winning sculptor Elaine Allison, established tapestry artists Fiona Hutchison and Jane Binks, accomplished basket-maker Janice Hall and East Lothian cabinet-maker Michaela Huber. The exhibition will showcase a wide range of new work, all for sale.
