Kilns continues SSA member Jacqui Higgs’ series of small and larger scale paintings related to the tanker/frigate image, by using on-site drawings of urban seascapes and occasional references to figuration.
Jacqui Higgs’ work captures the changing lights, depths and colours of the North Sea which lash onto her everyday walks in Edinburgh and beyond. Though these vastly changing environments make working outside extremely challenging, Higgs drew strength from Joan Eardley’s utter commitment in overcoming and embracing working en plein air in Scotland to achieve her wonderful seascapes.
Live music will be performed by LouRay2 at the opening evening.
