This short workshop is designed to introduce icon painting/egg tempera.
We will explore Russian method.
Participants will be provided with a simple image which then they will use to create a template.
The template will be transferred into a small gesso panel.
We will learn
- to prepare egg medium (using egg yolk and wine)
- mix dry pigments with medium
- application of egg tempera onto our panels using thin layers of paint
- oil gold gilding
