Start the new year by being creative! There is nothing better for overcoming the winter blues than making something amazing with your own hands.

If you love glass and would like to design and make few pieces of your own unique jewellery, then this class is for you. You don’t need any prior skills or knowledge, just imagination and creativity. We will use colorful fusable glass, which incorporates metals and is perfect for making sparkling jewellery, and both a microwave and a larger glass kiln.

In the class you will learn:

• the basics of fusing glass
• how to cut and layer glass in preparation for fusing
• how to fuse glass in a kiln
• post-fusing processing, such as grinding and polishing
• how to attach jewellery findings to glass

At the end of the class you should be able to take home a finished pendant (or two) and a pair of earrings of your own design. If you wish, you can also follow a pre-designed project. The skills that you will learn in this class will help you start making your own glass jewellery at home or in a studio setting.

The workshop is suitable for beginners and improvers. Tools, materials and refreshments will be provided, but please bring an apron with you.
