Community Events Glass Christmas Decorations Workshop

In this workshop you will learn the basics of fused glass while making your own glass Christmas decorations and other small glass items to add a festive sparkle to your Christmas. Glass decorations make excellent gifts and your family and friends will be surprised and delighted to receive a hand-made present. You can design anything you like or follow a pre-designed project(s).

The workshop is suitable for beginners with no prior knowledge of fused glass as well as improvers. All tools and materials will be provided.

Kiln-formed or fused glass is an approach that enables individual pieces of glass to be assembled and transformed into a single object when heated to high temperature in a kiln. Depending on the temperature used, different textures and other interesting visual effects can be achieved. When the right tools are at hand, fusing glass is easy and fun. Once you try, you will be hooked. In this workshop you will:

• learn the basics techniques used in fused glass
• become confident in cutting glass and assembling simple shapes
• learn how different textures and other effects can be achieved
• make Christmas tree decorations and other small fun objects

Note that your creations will be ready to collect few days after the workshop.
