Gather and Woodcarving with Wieteke
Sunday 11 October 2020 10:00am - 4:00pm
St Margaret's House
Teacher: Wieteke
Suitable for: Aged 21 and up
Price: £85 each (lunch included)
Location: Studio 4.26

Walk, gather, learn and carve your own crochet hook(s) with Wieteke on Sunday 11 October at 10am – 4pm.

Wieteke’s workshops are not average workshops. They take a little longer because Wieteke goes the extra mile by taking you into nature to cover the whole process from finding materials to finishing your product. While taking you into nature she’ll tell you beautiful stories, share knowledge about the flora and she will show you how you can collect the perfect wood yourself without harming nature.

The workshop starts with a walk in nearby nature (Holyrood Park, and accessible via the path). After the walk we will dive into the workshop space where Wieteke will
demonstrate the wood carving technique. After the instructions you get to practice woodcarving and you’ll be making your own crochet needle from fallen wood. You will leave the workshop with one or more self-made crochet needles
and sufficient knowledge to independently apply the technique of collecting materials in nature and wood carving the found materials into unique crochet needles that are a joy to use.

Lunch is included and will be provided by the always lovely Art and Vintage Cafe.
