Preview – Saturday 1 October 1pm – 4pm
Deirdre will exhibit a new body of large-scale and 3D semi-abstract drawings. The starting point for these drawings is the effect upon urban light of changes to the built environment and, in particular, the processes of construction and demolition which affect city light.
Deirdre Macleod is a Scottish artist, who takes aspects of her experience of the city as the starting point for her work. She is particularly interested in the ‘view from the ground’ as a way of exploring the human relationship with the built environment and the ways in which cities function.
She has degrees in Geography, Politics and Painting from the Universities of Cambridge and Edinburgh. She exhibits widely and was recently invited to take part in Drawing on Drawing, a major drawing exhibition at Edinburgh College of Art.
Deirdre would like to thank the Gane Trust for their generous financial support of this exhibition.
Images are examples of recent works by Deirdre and may not be featured in the upcoming exhibition.
