(visitors welcome when Gallery 2 doors are open)
Artist collective Create to Move will use Gallery 2 for a research and development residency.
The root of our research stems from three fundamental topics:
- AI and Technology
- Essence of Human Nature
- The Natural Environment.
We’re interested in where these topics intersect.
Physicality of touch, making and movement vs AI & technology.
In an increasingly computerised, urbanised and mechanised world, seemingly on the brink of an AI revolution, what are the values of nature, and creativity? As artists we share certain responsibilities to help to preserve the ways in which we express our humanity; through dance, making, play, craft and art. How is technology currently affecting us and how could it shape our futures?
During our residency we will embrace the idea of research and exploration through play,
conversation, shared learning, movement, material manipulation, sharing & devising – working through potential avenues and synthesizing our ideas for future developments.
Create to Move is a newly formed collective with visual artists Emma Macleod, Fiona Hermse and choreographer/dancer Emma Snellgrove.
