Border-lands Ongoing Work
Saturday 19 October - Sunday 27 October 2019 11:00am - 6:00pm
St Margaret's House

Opening night: Friday the 18th of October 7pm – 9:30pm

The paintings in this exhibition are a group of ten works, a series based on the the
landscape of the Scottish and English border. Though a process of drawing and then
painting I am attempting to make pictures that extract an essence of the landscape I
am looking at. To reduce it to the rhythms of shapes and lines. To consider the
source, distill and reduce it while leaving the basic ingredients of what the Borders
landscape is.

The purpose of the exhibition was primarily to look at what I have achieved over the
last eighteen months and to see how the paintings look and work together free from
the confines of my studio.

I am also including some smaller work from my last solo show at the Doubtfire
Gallery in 2017.
