Preview event: Friday 16 June 6-8pm

‘All in good taste’ takes a look into what makes people identify a place as home.

With a wide variant in style there is an exploration from each artist into where they perceive to be their home – within country, themselves or objects.

Emily Hill draws on the themes of childhood memory and cultural identity as she reflects back to her home in Northern Ireland. Now living in London, the motifs, colours and toys of her childhood have an evolved meaning as she reflects on their imagery from a new city.

Moving back to her home town in the Highlands, Hannah Murray opens up an exploration of how the sense of a family home can be captured and recorded by more than formalities and documents. By examining the letters of war time lovers she see’s how family recipes, stories and iconic personal belongings can transport a person home.

Jenni Murison embarks on the journey of entering a new space and how to inhabit this. Posing the question of whether filling a space with belongings or whether the daily nuances of a life and the person themselves makes it a home.
