During the five weeks participants will learn how to animate using a wide range of different materials and techniques. It will be packed with animated related fun and learning. From getting messy with clays, creating films with sand and painting with light we will teach you basic animated techniques.

What skills will participants learn?

As well as having lots of messy animated fun, participants will start to build key literacy skills using iPads, cameras and other varied digital software. Important skills in creativity, storytelling and creating movement will be developed as well as soft skills like communication, teamwork and confidence.

What do you need to bring?

We will provide all the equipment, materials, experience and animation know how – you bring the creativity.

12 Principles of Animation

12 Principles of Animation

Get signed up for this 5 week course and learn all about the 12 Principles of Animation – the foundation of all animation. Using both traditional and digital techniques we will learn and discover these important skills for animation first invented by Disney animators in the 30s.

What skills will participants learn?

Each week participants will digital animation skills and work with drawing digitally and working with cameras which is perfect for digital literacy and creativity development. Completing this course will create a diverse body of work showcasing a range of animated skills. The 12 Principles will be broken down throughout the 5 weeks.

As well as fundamental animation skills, these courses will develop soft skills like teamwork, communication and confidence.

What do you need to bring?

We will provide all the equipment, materials, experience and animation know how – you bring the creativity.

Get signed up for this 5 week animation course and learn all about stop-motion! Throughout the sessions you will learn different aspects from the stop motion process from building your own puppet to animating different materials such as clay and lego.

What skills will participants learn?

The key animation skills participants will learn from these sessions will be puppet making, how to animate using stop-motion software, pixelation, walk cycles and how to compose a stop-motion scene. While working on this course, there will also be development in important soft skill areas such as teamwork, communication and self-confidence.
