Kids Sewing Class - Owl Toys

Thursday 18 October
10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Owl toys are easy sewing projects for children aged 8-12. And they are fun to do. They are made from small amounts of fabric, felt and buttons, and offer lots of opportunities for to develop kids craft skills.

Who is this aimed at?
Children must already have done an introductory sewing class to learn how to use a sewing machine. Ideally they will have completed the Kids Sewing Course Level 1 or the Kids Introductory level Sewing Class, and be confident using a machine.

Beginners Sewing Course XL

Thursday 18 October
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

This Beginners Sewing Course is a good starting point to learn expert sewing techniques whether you want to progress into dressmaking, soft furnishing or craft projects. It’s also a great refresher if you’ve not sewn for a while. You’ll learn how to understand sewing machines, get experience of using different stitch types, learning about stitch lengths, widths and tensions. I’ll explain what the different presser feet are for and you’ll learn how to measure and cut fabric.

I’ve been sewing since I was a child and that’s a lot of years experience. During that time, I’ve made every mistake in the book and learnt how to avoid them. Now you can benefit from my mistakes and learn to sew like a pro as I share my expert tips. I wish I’d known all this stuff when I started to sew.

What will I learn?

Boogie Bounce

Thursday 18 October
7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Boogie Bounce Xtreme programme is FAB, FUN, FUNKY AND FAT BURNING. It is a complete exercise programme on a mini trampoline, with a safety bar, choreographed to chart-topping inspiring music which includes an extremely effective cardio section, and really powerful bums, tums and thighs section too! Every muscle in the body is worked. EVEN THE FACIAL MUSCLES!

Boogie Bounce uses High-Intensity Interval Training (H.I.I.T) techniques to maximise the most effective fat burning process in the cardio section, whilst using the pliable surface of the mat to perform a range of core stability exercises, thus engaging more of the deep core muscles. The programmes have been a hit since 1996 with countless success stories from regular attendees amazed at the ‘all over’ health and fitness results achieved.

Our 45/50 minutes classes are designed to promote a fun, party-like atmosphere with inspiring music. Our instructors are all qualified and understand the different fitness needs of an individual and want to encourage all shapes and sizes and all walks of life to our classes. Our instructors tailor their classes to suit their attendees and are highly motivational in helping individuals achieve their long-term fitness goals.

Existential Questions? A Series of Six Process Art Workshops

Friday 19 October
2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Are you tired of living in a culture where “dumbing down is so prevalent?
Do you like wrestling with the BIG questions?
Come, join us in an exploration of the existential layer of our life process.

In this series of workshops we will take the time to make art, reflect on and share about that which makes us human. One by one you are invited to visit those challenging aspects of the human condition which are unavoidable and which pose ultimately unsolvable questions. Our creativity is put to the best of uses when called upon to remake our answers to these existential questions.
Each week we will explore where we are currently standing in relation to one of six universal themes:
1. embodiment
2. autonomy and relatedness
3. freedom and responsibility
4. death and other limitations
5. meaning and meaninglessness
6. the Un-known
You may attend these workshops as a complete series or individually.
