No Woman is an Island | Rona MacLean & Aileen Grant

Opening night | Friday 6 March No Woman is an Island will feature paintings and handmade prints by artists Rona MacLean and Aileen Grant, both residents of St Margaret's House and members of Edinburgh Printmakers. The work will feature Scottish landscapes, fishing huts, allotments and natural forms. This is the third year of this (popular) annual exhibition, and for the first time introduces several new artists to the mix.

Doorways to the Divine | Icon painters

17 January 2015 - 08 February 2015

Opening night | Friday 16 January Curated by Basia Mindewicz, Doorways to the Divine features work by six artists who are exploring the idea of art as a spiritual path. Some of the work on show is inspired by the traditions of Christian or Buddhist iconography, depicting figures such as angels which symbolize states of prayer and contemplative vision.  Others are interested in the possibility of directly channelling imagery from a universal spiritual source.

Winter Open Studios | November 2014

The artists, makers and craftspeople of St Margaret’s House are opening their studios to the public for a weekend-long event. Family-friendly workshops, a craft fair, a café and one-off performances will take place across the building’s eight storeys. The Makers' Fair | November 2014

As part of our Open Studios weekend, a cluster of artists and makers holding studios in St Margaret’s will be selling their work in a special, two-day fair. Expect to see paintings, greetings cards and prints for sale, alongside handmade crafts such as ceramics, soaps, candles and soft textiles.
