Eco Print a T-Shirt with Foraged Leaves

Eco Print a T-Shirt with Foraged Leaves

Saturday 17 April
2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

This is an online event. The in person class will be in June 2021.

What is Eco Printing?
It’s an environmentally friendly vibrant form of printing that uses natural organic materials bundled up in cloth. The ‘bundle’ is then steamed, capturing the beautiful colourful essences, giving a unique Eco print. It’s low impact and zero waste. For this class you will be using foraged leaves you collect yourself.
Why take this class?
It’s really fun and a great starting point to learn the basics. All delivered to you in the comfort of your home. We ask you to get outside and collect your own leaves and use a t-shirt you already have that could do with a new lease of life. This boosts your ‘connect to nature’ and ‘reuse’ boxes for sustainable living. All other materials you’ll probably have at home already. You’ll learn a sustainable crafting skill that can be used to prolong the life of clothing & linens, make eco gifts, create wall art and bring the joy of achievement.

What will we do?
Jane, from ArtyFarty Art will welcome you and settle you in. Not only is she an experienced tutor, she’s is an awesome artist blessed with a wonderful sense of humour. She will gently guide you step by step through the whole process from preparing your t-shirt, which botanicals deliver great colour, how to tie up and steam your bundles (ouch) to fixing your colour. We will have a question & answer session, a short video and a fun quiz whilst we await the steaming, around 35 mins. After this we will unwind our bundle and have the grand reveal.
