The classes combine intuitive painting, meditation, and writing. They provide a safe and positive space for free expression, with the aim to develop an intuitive approach to the creative process. Art is used as a tool for pure self-expression, healing, and transformation.
Participants have the chance to work on any subject, emotion or thought they wish to explore through the process. However, a general theme is always provided. A short guided meditation opens and closes the practice and helps to relax the mind and the body.
The four weeks course will focus on the connection with nature and will use the four elements (Earth, Water, Fire, Air) to journey through different aspects of the Self. When we embody nature we are free to be who we are and can connect with the deepest and sacred part of ourselves. Through guided imagery, intuitive painting, and freewriting we will gently explore our lives, creating the space to let go of the old and welcome the new.
All the materials will be provided: acrylic paints, paper, paintbrushes, aprons, towels, sponges etc.
Everyone is welcome and no experience in painting or meditation is required.

What is the furniture painting class?
Our furniture painting class is a great opportunity to relax and have some creative fun with an old or unloved piece of furniture that’s needing a new look. We reckon you’ll be amazed at what a lick of paint can do bring a piece back into style and make it loveable again!
You’ll be welcomed into our studio, a creative space with a friendly and supportive environment. We’ll guide you through the process of furniture painting, including giving you our hints and tips on the products that we prefer using, how to improve your brushwork and how to avoid and fix the common mistakes that happen when you’re painting furniture.
Please bring a small item of wooden furniture to paint or you can pre-order a piece for £20 and we will source it for you e.g. a small side table, coffee table, magazine rack, dining chair, small cabinet or a stool.

General Iyengar Yoga class – mixed level class, some previous experience preferred.
Yoga Now studio is on the 4th floor of St.Margaret’s House. It is a beautiful, spacious and fully equipped yoga studio – we even have a wonderful wall of yoga ropes! We provide mats and everything else you need for our structured and engaging classes.
Introductory Pass – £50 for 6 classes in 6 weeks
Autumn Term Pass – £128 for 16 classes in 16 weeks (just £8 each).
Single class £12
Regular practice of yoga can help with both physical and mental wellbeing. Our General Level classes are mixed level. We concentrate on poses from the Introductory syllabus and alternatives are given for those with different experience levels. It is preferable to attend a few classes at Level 1 first, so that you understand the basic instructions as we do not always give as much detail at this level.
All of our teachers have trained for many years in the Iyengar tradition. Lucy, who runs the studio, has been studying Iyengar yoga for 33 years and has studied with Geeta and Prashant Iyengar in Pune and with many other senior teachers in the UK.

In this workshop we will learn to knit the Oats Cowl by Tin Can Knits in the round – a great starter project if you are new to knitting or for those who haven’t picked up the needles in a while. While working on your cowl we’ll cover reading a pattern, casting on & off as well as how weave in your ends to finish your project off and try to answer any knitting-related queries you have.

Some people are lucky to find a job that corresponds to their true passion. They earn a living doing what they love. But there are a lot of people that do not have such a privilege or can’t find the courage for such a big change. If you are one of them, the Japanese people from the island of Okinawa have a word for you: Ikigai. It’s your “reason for being”, where you combine what you love with what you are good at and what the world needs.
Our afternoon together will start sitting down in our welcome ceremony and, after some moments of meditation, you will think about some easy questions: what do you love? What are you good at? No need to have a clear answer, just let your emotions talk.
With your heart full of passion, full of you, you will open your heart chakra in a wonderful hour of yoga with Martina.
