Wednesday 3 October
10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Wednesday mornings 10am-12pm for 12 weeks

This dressmaking course will teach you how to make your own unique clothes that fit perfectly. Or if you’ve already done a bit of dressmaking, then you can improve your techniques. I’ve been dressmaking since I was at school. I’ve also studied Bridalwear and Tailoring so I’ve learned lots of tips and tricks that give your projects a polished look. During this course, I’ll be focussing on teaching technique so your clothes won’t look ‘Homemade’, but ‘Handmade’. No-one will believe you made them yourself.

What will I learn? I’ll coach you along the way in the following:

Lunchtime yoga

Wednesday 3 October
12:15 pm - 1:15 pm

This one hour, lunchtime Iyengar Yoga class is a great way to undo the damage of sitting at a desk!
Sitting and repetitive tasks take a toll on our bodies, leading to back, neck and shoulder pain, knee and hip problems… Learn how to undo accumulated tension in your body and protect yourself against further damage! By taking some time out from your work, you will refresh and calm your mind and be much more effective in the afternoon.
You are welcome to drop-in to the class when it suits you but it is cheaper per class to book for the term (and you are more likely to come regularly if you book in advance). Yoga works best when done regularly.

Kids Craft Course

Wednesday 3 October
4:30 pm - 6:00 pm

This Kids craft course will contain various fabric and textile projects such as hand embroidery, machine embroidery, and mixed media arts. We will explore use of everyday materials to make prints, and recycle paper to make stitched book covers.

Who is this aimed at?

Children aged 8-12. As sewing machines will be used for some projects, children need to have already taken an introductory sewing machine class.

Kids Sewing Course

Wednesday 3 October
4:30 pm - 6:00 pm

The Kids Sewing Course will teach your child how to use a sewing machine. They will learn lots of foundation sewing and make some fun easy sewing projects.

Because they’re having such a great time, they don’t actually realise how many valuable sewing skills they are learning which will stay with them for life.

At age 8-12, children have the mental capacity to learn the basic concepts and sufficient manual dexterity to operate a sewing machine. It’s actually the perfect age at which to learn. Sewing is an ideal creative activity for children. It develops their manual dexterity, hand/eye co-ordination, and encourages focus and concentration. Completing a sewing project from start to finish fosters a sense of accomplishment that can boost a child’s morale and self-confidence. And it’s really great fun! Plus it gives them a huge sense of achievement and self-worth.

This course is run during school holidays as a 5-day course comprising 2-hours per day. There is also a term-time after-school version of 1.5 hour sessions over 6 weeks. Please check the individual event at point of booking for details.

Who is this aimed at?

Beginners aged 8-12 years. (Younger children will be considered). They must be able to reach the floor when sitting at a table 74cm in height (approx standard desk height)

What will my child learn?

The Boogie Bounce Xtreme programme is FAB, FUN, FUNKY AND FAT BURNING. It is a complete exercise programme on a mini trampoline, with a safety bar, choreographed to chart-topping inspiring music which includes an extremely effective cardio section, and really powerful bums, tums and thighs section too! Every muscle in the body is worked. EVEN THE FACIAL MUSCLES!

Boogie Bounce uses High-Intensity Interval Training (H.I.I.T) techniques to maximise the most effective fat burning process in the cardio section, whilst using the pliable surface of the mat to perform a range of core stability exercises, thus engaging more of the deep core muscles. The programmes have been a hit since 1996 with countless success stories from regular attendees amazed at the ‘all over’ health and fitness results achieved.

Our 45/50 minutes classes are designed to promote a fun, party-like atmosphere with inspiring music. Our instructors are all qualified and understand the different fitness needs of an individual and want to encourage all shapes and sizes and all walks of life to our classes.
