Relax Kids offers fun activity classes to help children manage anxiety and emotions while building self-esteem and confidence. Relax Kids Classes are starting back at St. Margarets House Meadowbank in February.
The next Relax Kids sessions will be running from Panda Yoga Studios 6.28 St Margaret’s House 151 London Road EH7 6AE starting in April.

Garvald Edinburgh presents a multi-media exhibition exploring interpretations

Play is a source of learning, a path to creativity and a key to connectivity. Play
uncovers basic truths and reveals new possibilities. Exploring interpretations of
PLAY through a variety of artistic and creative media, this innovative show will
challenge pre-conceptions in an exciting and inspirational way.
Play and playfulness are evident in our artistic and cultural legacy from the
earliest times: from the cave paintings of prehistory to 20 th Century Dada,
Surrealism and everything in between. Playful creativity is both process and
performance, enriching life with an essential element of self-determined
pleasure and personal discovery.
The playful art displayed throughout this exhibition invites us to re-experience
the flights of imagination we remember from childhood and to think anew
about the place of play and playfulness in our adult lives.

This dressmaking course will teach you basic dressmaking techniques so you can make your own clothes. You’ll be able to make unique clothes that fit perfectly. My focus is on learning to sew so I’ll show you techniques that will refine the look of your garment and raise your sewing game. I’ll coach you along the way in the following:

This Gentle Yoga class is suitable for Beginners and those with injuries or health conditions that mean they need to work at a slower pace. We will take time to adapt the poses to suit individual needs, using supports (chairs, bolsters, blankets etc.) where necessary.
Over the term, we will still cover a variety of asanas that will allow you to understand how to adapt the poses so that you can practice them for yourself. This class usually has a longer relaxation section than the standard classes.

Craft Sewing Course is a fun and social course to learn or brush up your sewing skills. This 4-week course gives you four easy sewing projects: a handy tote shopper, a patchwork cushion, a tablet or I-pad cover, and a zipped make up bag.

Projects. The tote bag is lined and reversible, and folds up into a carry case, perfect for popping in your handbag. The patchwork cushion front is in four sections with topstitching to highlight the panels. It has a simple envelope back and is made from 2 Fat Quarters. Finally, the zipped make-up bag is lined, and has an exposed zip. This technique is useful to know as it’s common in bag-making. You will need to bring your own fabric for your projects – I’ll provide details when you book.

This class is suitable for beginners but it moves at a faster pace than the standard Iyengar classes so it is not suitable for those with injuries or medical conditions.
The class will focus on sequences of poses (vinyasa) such as Surya Namaskarasana (Sun Salutations). You will learn about the transitions between poses, linking them together in sequences or repeating poses many times. The class is dynamic and energising and ends with a relaxation, so you will go home uplifted and ready for the rest of your week!
