Our classes are fun and friendly. They introduce different artists and techniques each week, This term we are focusing on colour and pattern in modern art. Children use a variety of materials and are encouraged to further their ability and imagination. Gray's School of Art | 4th Year Painting Exhibition

Private view: Saturday 24th February 6pm – 9pm
This exhibition brings the 4th year painters at Gray’s School of Art out of their studios and into a gallery space together for the first time. The students are all painting undergraduates, but this is a diverse group with a range of media on show including video, sculpture, drawing and painting. They have been wholly responsible for organising and presenting this exhibition which has required collaboration, cooperation and a degree of compromise from all involved. All skills that will help the students in their professional life after Art School.
2 Week Introduction to Sewing
6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
2 week Introduction to Sewing: 27th February & 6th March 6.30pm – 9pm
This practical sewing course will help you become familiar with the basics of machine sewing and help you build your confidence using a domestic sewing machine before moving on to a simple sewing project after which you can graduate onto another intermediate course offered by Edinburgh Sewcial Club.
6 Week Shirt / Shirt Dress Making Class
6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
The shirt is a pretty technical garment so there’s lots to learn in this class – don’t worry you will be taken through everything step by step and class sizes are kept small ensuring you recieve ample 1 to 1 tutor time.
Make a shirt – male or female styling or a shirt dress in a fabric or fabrics of your choosing and will be ready in time for spring / summer!
Silver Jewellery Making - All levels
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
(excludes 12th Feb’18)
This course is suitable for all levels including complete beginners.
You will learn basic jewellery making techniques on a weekly basis, such as sawing, filing, soldering, roll printing and finishing metals, as well as cabochon stone setting. You will be making a ring, pendant and earrings along the way. There will be one to one guidance enabling you to confidently create your own piece of jewellery.
