Our classes are fun and friendly. They introduce different artists and techniques each week, This term we are focusing on colour and pattern in modern art. Children use a variety of materials and are encouraged to further their ability and imagination. 2 Week Introduction to Sewing

2 week Introduction to Sewing: 21st & 28th February 6.30pm – 9pm

This practical sewing course will help you become familiar with the basics of machine sewing and help you build your confidence using a domestic sewing machine before moving on to a simple sewing project after which you can graduate onto another intermediate course offered by Edinburgh Sewcial Club.

Make a silver stone-set ring

Sunday 25 February
10:00 am - 3:00 pm

During this workshop you will learn how to make a silver ring and a bezel setting for a cabochon stone. You will be shown how to solder the two together to create a unique stone set ring. You will learn basic jewellery making techniques such as sawing, filing and soldering, as well as trickier ones such as sizing and stonesetting.

Stacking rings workshop

Sunday 25 February
10:00 am - 3:00 pm

This workshop is also running on Sunday 11th March ’18

This one day workshop is suitable for all levels. You will be shown how to size, shape, solder and finish up to 6 contrasting silver rings. Using a saw, files and hammers you will create a set of unique stacking rings to take home at the end of the day.

Gray's School of Art | 4th Year Painting Exhibition

Private view: Saturday 24th February 6pm – 9pm

This exhibition brings the 4th year painters at Gray’s School of Art out of their studios and into a gallery space together for the first time. The students are all painting undergraduates, but this is a diverse group with a range of media on show including video, sculpture, drawing and painting. They have been wholly responsible for organising and presenting this exhibition which has required collaboration, cooperation and a degree of compromise from all involved. All skills that will help the students in their professional life after Art School.
