Our classes are fun and friendly. They introduce different artists and techniques each week, This term we are focusing on colour and pattern in modern art. Children use a variety of materials and are encouraged to further their ability and imagination. Class sizes are small (between 8-15 children) allowing us to spend time with each child and welcome all abilities. Classes are led by Arts Education Tutor Poppy Richards who works across a
6 Week Dressmaking Class

This dress making class is ideal for someone who has intermediate dressmaking skills, you should be comfortable using a sewing machine and have made simple projects such as cushions or bags.

Make any garment you like – a dress, skirt, waistcoat, jacket, trousers whatever you like! – bring along your own pattern or use one of many patterns in the studio.

Introduction to Sewing Class
6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
This practical sewing course will help you become familiar with the basics of machine sewing and help you build your confidence using a domestic sewing machine before moving on to a simple sewing project after which you can graduate onto another intermediate course offered by Edinburgh Sewcial Club.
Stained Glass for Beginners
12:00 am - 3:00 pm
In this workshop you can learn the basis of leaded stained glass.
We will go through:
-The art of cutting glass
-Choice of subject and design
-Moving the drawing into cardboard templates
-Cutting the different pieces of glass
-Leading
-Welding
-Cementing, polishing, and finishing your project.
Introduction to Tapestry Weaving
10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Saturdays
2 week course, running for 5 hours on subsequent Saturday @
10:00 am – 4 pm
10 hours tuition in total
Learn the basics and create a piece to take home
Loom and yarns provided
Course includes:
• Select a design and suitable yarns
• Create a warp on the loom; knotting to space and secure
• Basic weaving techniques; introducing new colours, creating shapes and patterns
• Finish the top & back of the weaving and cut off the loom
• Look at hanging options
