A bit about me and my work:

I’m 19, I am training to become a digital communications executive. I write weekly LinkedIn A sample of Amy's workarticles along with news posts, content and blogs for my workplace and I have an unnecessarily big obsession with Meryl Streep.  I started making card this year and the response has been incredible so far – my Instagram is @alistondesigns, and I can also be contacted through my LinkedIn, website is in the making!  All of my cards are completely handmade and no card will ever look 100% alike as the ink splatters never land the same.  I can do any colour, flower and writing; typically done cursive and they are £3.50 each, or 3 for £10. Plus £1.80 for post and package as I add in personalised thank you notes and try to wrap my cards as eco friendly as possible for the supplies that I have!

#TAE19

Twitter Art Exhibit is an annual art exhibition that has taken place in locations all around the world from Norway to Australia. Every year over 1,000 global artists each donate a postcard-sized work of art, which is sold at exhibition and online to raise funds for a chosen charity. So far over £50,000 has been raised for various charitable organisations, such as Foster Pride in New York and Pegasus Riding for the Disabled in Canberra. As its name suggests, the social media platform Twitter is central to the event, spreading awareness and making connections across the world. We are excited to announce that in May 2019 Twitter Art Exhibit (TAE19) is coming to Scotland for the first time, and its charity beneficiary will be Art in Healthcare!

TAE19 will be curated by artist Sam Bannister with support from artist Trevor Jones and #TAE19sponsorship from art materials supplier Great Art. Opening night will be 11 May 2019 at Out of the Blue, Edinburgh. The exhibition will run through the weekend, online sales continuing afterwards. Submission to the exhibition is open to all, with one artwork accepted per person. Entries must be original works, 12 x 16cm in size, created using any 2D art media. If you would like your art to be included in the TAE19 catalogue, the deadline for entry is 12 April 2019. To register and to find out more details, please visit twitterartexhibit.org

Happy Anniversary Artisan Stitch

1 February marked the first anniversary of my moving into St Margaret’s House, and four years of Artisan Stitch. Initially painted dark grey, the sixth floor studio is now a bright, inviting and sociable space. The larger room has enabled me to extend my range of creative textile workshops and provide even more sewing classes for adults and children alike. The larger wall space has also enabled me to display more of my textile art and my collection of vintage and antique sewing machines. It’s more like a gallery or mini-museum, than a classroom!
