Putting Restalrig on The Map

The Thrive Archive’s curator Jan Bee Brown has been commissioned to create a creative ‘map’ celebrating Restalrig by TRACS (Traditional Arts & Culture Scotland) for their Parish Map Project.

Jan wants to hear your stories of Restalrig and discover more about the community initiatives like The Secret Garden and The Ripple Project and any projects you’ve been working on.

A series of postcards featuring Restalrig landmarks are available on the table in reception and Jan would love your feedback what the locals love, what they think the community needs more of and any stories or living or working in Restalrig.

Just pop the postcards in the post to TRACS or interact digitally via The Thrive Archive FB page: https://www.facebook.com/thethrivearchive/

Suzanne Carmichael – Counsellor/Therapist

Hello and Welcome

I am a fully qualified, Integrative therapist with 20 years experience of working within the counselling profession. In addition to working in private practice, I worked for the charity Link up Women’s Support Centre for 15 years, until it’s closure in 2020. Happily, I’m able to continue working within St Margaret’s House.

As you are reading this, you may be considering reaching out for help. Perhaps you have been feeling overwhelmed, anxious or depressed. Maybe you feel that past events are affecting how you currently cope with life today. You might be struggling to cope with a bereavement or loss. Or perhaps you are experiencing relationship difficulties.

I offer a safe, confidential and welcoming space in which together, we can begin to explore any difficulties that you may be experiencing. As a registered member of British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I practice within a framework of ethical guidelines and standards.

My training and experience includes working with Relationship issues, Anxiety, Depression, Self-esteem, Bereavement & Loss, Post-Natal Depression, Childhood Sexual Abuse, Minority Ethnic Women, Cultural issues, Work related issues.

My fees operate on a sliding scale depending on income. Please feel free to contact me if you would like any further information, without obligation.

I am currently working both face-to-face, in person and over Skype.

The Bridge Pottery Collective Sample Sale

The Bridge Pottery collective has set up a ‘seconds’ display in the drawing room on the third floor. All items for sale by donation (box on shelf), with proceeds going towards maintenance and equipment for the studio. We hope to open this up to the public in future but for now any tenants wanting to snap up a bargain piece of handmade pottery please come and take a look. We’ll be refreshing the shelves regularly in our efforts to reduce our environmental impact and waste.
