Studio Share Available

A one-window space available to share.
Ideally I am looking for another 2 part-time artists to share the studio space with, specifically painters and/or artists.
At the moment I am working on organising the space – tidying things and creating space for other people coming in. I have quite a large variety of artists tools in the studio which I am happy to share – maybe having some kind of work diary, so a note of what has been used can be recorded.
At the  moment in the studio there are 2 solid  wooden tables. The less deep one is mine, I’m happy to leave my desk clear of work and for other people to use when I am not in the studio, I also keep 2 medium sized fold up tables for extra workspace which are for use.
The other person in the studio at the moment prefers to keep her table space as her own, and does not want this used communally. A shelving unit is available for storage, as well as a large wooden cabinet.

I want people to be aware I’m a wheelchair user, so access in room is also required.

As it is not huge studio space, I think it would be best if the people I (we) share with would be open to the idea of a rota system.

The sort of people I would be looking to share with would be responsible, respectful team players, communicative and fun loving.

Have Your Say on Meadowbank’s Future!

Call out to contribute to the online Public Consultation

Edinburgh City Council have opened a full public consultation on the future of the Meadowbank Stadium site, after planning permission was granted in June for a new smaller sports centre to occupy around half the whole area. What happens on the rest of the site is yet to be decided, and the public are being invited to give their feedback.

Initial plans to build 300+ flats/student flats and a hotel are now on hold, until the consultation results are in, with “nothing ruled in or out”. The consultation is online, quick to fill in and is open until 31st October – everyone who is interested in the future of the site – and in sports & leisure provision in the city – is invited to contribute, not just locals.

In addition to the multiple choices, there’s an opportunity to tick the “other” box and write in what you’d like to see. One option might be studio provision for artists & other small creative businesses, perhaps.

Dear fashion designers, Hand Up Events and LocalMotive Markets are organising a very special ‘Year of Youth’ fashionABLE fashion show that platforms diversity, integrity, inclusion, equality and empowerment. Existential Questions? A Series of Six Process Art Workshops

For several years Lindsay Gibson has been running Creativity for Wellbeing workshops in various locations throughout Edinburgh. In January, a Creativity for Wellbeing workshop was held in Edinburgh Palette for the first time. We know what an inspiring experience it can be to engage with each other here, and a seed was sown on that day.

Lindsay is now back and ready to  present a series of process art workshops informed by existential questions. For six Friday afternoons in a row, starting on September 21st, a small group will meet in The Drawing Room and use creative and mutually supportive methods to visit life’s big questions.
