HUGE apologies for the swap shop being closed so much recently. This is mainly been due to a larger then usual number of donations/people moving out of the building as well as usual donations.
When so much is donated at once it gets untidy and unmanageable with items strewn about the floor making it unsafe. This can take ages to sort out with limited volunteer hours available.
Last week on the 27th of July, Edinburgh Palette was honoured to show our local MSP, Ash Denham around St Margaret’s House. It was a really positive visit including taking in Upward Mobility, the Gallery Space, Academy of Realist Art, Edinburgh Judo, and Link Up.

Previously this month we also had Councillor Alex Lunn (Craigentinny and Duddingston Ward) popping in for a coffee and a guided tour of the facilities.
To keep you all updated, here are a few photos of their visits. It’s a great opportunity for us to demonstrate what a hub for innovation and creativity Edinburgh Palette is and raise even greater awareness of the Project in the local area and further afield.
Edinburgh Collage Collective will be hosting a three day event ‘Live Collage Event’ from the 9th to the 11th of August,in Gallery 2 at St Margaret’s House.
ECC are collecting unwanted magazines and coloured scrap paper for this event and would appreciate any donations.

A big thank you to all those who dropped into my studio for my clear-out sale and purchased miscellaneous furniture and materials. It made my downsizing move much easier, good new homes were found for every single piece of furniture on offer and as 50% of money raised was destined for charity we donated a tidy £69 to SAMH.
