CloWnStePPinG News!!!

Dear Friend,

We are almost half way through July! Difficult to believe how fast this year has passed… and now, we find ourselves facing many challenging socio-political news. We can only hope that the clown energy within us keeps us together, reminding us of what is essential… we all are humans despite of where we have been born or raise in the world, our skin colour, religion or gender.

Art from the Heart

“Art from the Heart” is an activity day for adults to get out in nature, play, get messy and be creative.

Fiona King is bringing her creativity in nature day to Edinburgh. Thanks to Edinburgh Palette for making a room available near to Holyrood Park.

Whatever the weather the day will offer a chance to work in a small group with enthusiasm and fun. We all have some creative imagination and the games, craft activities and time spent re-connecting with our surroundings will give all abilities a chance to tap into this. There is no need for any previous experience, but a wish to play and try something different.

Our plans to open an International Magazine Centre continue and we need your help!

To establish if the centre is viable, we need to find out how you would use it – would you visit the exhibitions, would you hold your events there, would you peruse the shelves of beautiful mags, would you join us in the office space, would you hold meetings there?

A message from Karl, who is leaving

After three happy years in the offices of St Margaret’s House, I am currently working my notice. I wish to thank everyone for their encouragement over the years and everyone’s frequent, kind support of the projects I have dreamed up. Below are some images that capture some of my best memories from my time here.

I have (hopefully) hidden it well but I have no formal training in the arts, making me all the more grateful for every single dealing I have had with residents and visitors as a result of this job. I believe that a good experience is one that changes you for the better, but you are able to improve things within it in turn – I sincerely hope that is the case here.
