Saturday 9 May, 11am Madelvic House, Granton Park Avenue, Edinburgh, EH5 1HS
We are a community group in Granton looking for artists to attend an open day in Madelvic House. We are developing ideas for the building which, if sustainable, could lead to us acquiring the building. The current plans are to develop a creative hub; please come along to give us your impression of the space and whether it might be somewhere you could see yourself working.
Featuring work from resident Martin Metcalfe, the Edinburgh Antifucktarian group are hosting a show at the Whitespace Gallery (Gayfield Square, Edinburgh) from 24th April until 4th May. This is a varied art exhibition which contests the current UK news formula.
On this 2 day workshop we’ll look at ways of representing the portrait head in the medium of water colour, while working from direct observation of the model. The focus will be on capturing the general shapes that make up the head and shoulders, on being attentive from beginning to end and making fresh marks as you make fresh discoveries.
My name is Sarah Clark. Last year, after the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games where I was lucky enough to win the gold medal at under 63kg in judo, I retired from international competition. I have now been given a wonderful opportunity to Pilot a ‘Get on Track’ (GOT) Project working in conjunction with The Dame Kelly Holmes Trust.
Long-time supporter of the Edinburgh Palette project, Flavia D’Avila is assistant producer to a dance piece coming up from London for the Edinburgh Fringe, and they need a large crash mat for the duration of the run. Willing to hire or buy.
